Dr. Patricia Cioe, Associate Professor of Behavioral & Social Science, is a Co-Investigator on a new 2-year R21 grant award from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The grant, "Development and Pilot Testing of a Just in Time Mobile Smoking Cessation Intervention for Persons living with HIV" is a pilot randomized clinical trial will examine the efficacy of using a smart-phone based app and a sensor to detect smoking activity in smokers with HIV who are making a quit attempt. Dr. Rebecca Schnall of Columbia University School of Nursing is the Principal Investigator on the project.
